After studying critical theory for much of my academic life, most notably in my work on popular musician Kate Bush, my current research focuses on the cultural and artistic histories of the Women's Liberation Movement.

From 2007-2008 I worked as a Research Assistant at the Butetown History & Arts Centre in Cardiff. It was an experience which sparked an interest in conducting research that uses life stories as a primary point of reference. It also helped me explore the relationship between collective memory and social change in the context of public history.

It is an interest and a method I am focussing on in my current research. As an independent researcher I am keen to find various platforms to disseminate research so that it may have a wider impact on society. I want the research I do to speak in different voices to different types of people, so that impact is not just a funding buzz word but something tangible yet creatively realised.
